Yke Prins (NL, 1961)

Like a true magician (alchemist), the sculptor Yke Prins knows how to process and transform materials. The transformation from wood to bronze, from ink to metal, from paper to stone. Characteristic of her artistry is her profound knowledge of divers materials, the application of old and new techniques and the ability to bend them to her will, to shape and capture movement, suggest infinity and allow her work to be all-encompassing.
